Every Political Party Needs a Spirit Animal.

 Republicans and Democrats have done a great job branding their parties right down to their spirit animals.

Republicans have their Elephant, Democrats have their Donkey, and we need our version of that.   A little know fact is that these were developed in the late 1800s by Thomas Nast, the same guy that gave us the modern image of Santa Claus that we still use today..

My branding goal is to find an appropriate ‘Spirit Animal’ that works with the Elephant and Donkey and as a look and feel like it’s been around forever.

Animal wise, it needs to be readily identifiable in profile perspective.  The current thought process is to go with something found in the U.S. and one that symbolizes strength and independence.  Maybe a Ram or Big Horn Sheep.  

I’ve also thought about going with an Eagle. It is 100% identifiable but I need to figure out how to position it against the Elephant and Donkey.
